Nominator's project description
| Dr. Gleb Sukhorukov has developed a novel technique to prepare hollow capsules with nm precision as regards size and wall thickness and with responsiveness as regards permeation, chemistry and mechanics. For this he could combine his skills and knowledge in interfacial, colloidal, physical and polymer chemistry. The systems have a high application potential in pharmacy, medicine and materials science which has been taken up by a company Dr. Sukhorukov co-founded. He, however, intends to focus on basic science which will be located in biophysics developing his systems towards artificial cells. Dr. Sukhorukov has managed to bridge gaps between many disciplines as well as between basic and applied science. He is thus expected to stimulate many research fields as well as coworkers to enter cooperations between materials life sciences. |
